Paris
WHERE TO STAY
I always find this the most overwhelming part. Picking where to stay, I mean especially in Paris. Which arrondissements/neighbourhood do you pick? And I will be honest this was a bit of a gamble…
We chose the 8th arrondissement - The Champs Elysee and I am SOOOO happy we did. We just had the best experience. We loved being only a short walk away from The Champs Elysee. I mean that street is just SO epic!!! It was the perfect spot to set up with our kids. Close to lots of restaurants and cafes and ashort stroll to the Arc Di Triumph.
ACCOMODATION
Rochester Champs Elysee was just beautiful We would stay here again in a heart beat. It was just a short stroll to the buzzing Champs Elysee but super quaint and quiet. After a long 24 hour journey, it was nice to be welcomed into a beautiful space like that. Breakfast was also really lovely.
THINGS TO DO
There is SO much to do in Paris. So today I am going to stick to what it is that we did while we were there for only two days!
CHAMPS ELYSEE:
As soon as we checked into our accommodation we walked down to the Champs Elysee to get dinner. It was buzzing and just such a cool vibe!!
Thats all we had the energy to do that afternoon… BUT the next morning (the perks of travelling with kids and a little jet lag) we were up SO early so we decide to walk to Champs Elysee again and go and see the Arch Di Triumph… there was literally no one in site (you can see in the pictures above) and it was SO cool to see it up close like that, with only very few cars driving around it. A real pinch me moment.
EIFFEL TOWER:
I mean!!!! it’s just so incredible. I highly reccommend getting a bus tour at night. They drive around Paris stopping at all of the iconic landmarks. A really cool way for the kids to see everything too and not get tired legs with all the walking!
On the same morning we walked to the Arch Di Triumph we got a taxi to the Eiffel tower. We got lost walking the beautiful streets… we walked down one and Chase goes “OMG LOOK” and there was the Effiel Tower sitting so perfeclty…it literally took our breath away. This beautiful English couple jogging past stopped and ased if they could take a photo of us. They told us that this particular street usually ahs a line for hours of people wanting to get a photo! I wish I remembered the street name. If anyone reading this knows please reach out and tell me - he he!
HIRED A FERRARI:
Asked the boys to go hire a car and this is what they came back with. Boys dreams came true - ha ha!
DISNEY LAND:
How could we not! Not sure if the boys were more excited or me!! We booked our tickets for Disney Land and the bus to get there prior to getting to Paris. We also paid the extra for the express line - if you can, I definitely recommend doing this the lines were crazy long!
Such an epic family day out - one we will never forget.
