BROOME

Broome - where the red pindan dirt meets the pristine blue ocean.

I just love Broome for its long warm days and chilled lifetsyle. This was exactly what we needed for some quality family time.

We set up in our favourite apartments in Broome - Seashells. Which is only a 300m stroll to the white sands of 22km-long Cable Beach, which is not only incredible during the day but known for its magical sunsets.

If you are looking for a relaxed holiday filled with sunshine, fishing, quality family time spent by the beach or pool & exploring nature than Broome is just perfect for you… and even better its only a 2 1/2 hour flight from Perth.

STAY: Seashells Broome.

We just love these apartments. Not only for obvious reasons - that they situate amongst the most beautiful lush gardens and surround an incredible family friendly pool - but simply because they are self contained - the rooms are nothing fancy. But they have everything that you need to be extremely comfortable especially as a family with little kids.

You have the option of 1 ,or 2 bedroom apartments or 3 bedroom bungalows. VIEW HERE

Each of these includes spacious living areas, well-appointed kitchens, bathrooms and laundries, and individual balconies with outdoor settings.

We were able to cook meals whenever we wanted to. Whether that be in our apartment or on one of the BBQs located in the beautiful lush gardens.

Wifi was amazing and they also had free in-house movies and Foxtel channels! Of course aircon. However I don’t like air-cons for my boys chests, so what I LOVED is that they had ceiling fans in each room!

And I have to note that the pool is heated (It was still refreshing) but not absolutely freezing that our babies couldn’t happily play for hours.

This may seem silly to mention, however we checked out a few of the other resorts and their pools were ridiculously freezing (our boys couldn’t swim in them) and its not like it was cold outside it was 32 degrees. So I just love that seashells monitors this.

We can not wait to visit again. And we would 100000% stay here over & over again.

Thanks so much again or having us Seashells Broome.

What To Do:

I could literally spend all of my days in Broome watching the sunrise & sunset with a whole lot of pool and beach time in-between - of course with a couple of Matsos ginger beers in hand.

However there are some really fun adventures to be had!

Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park; Broome Rd, Roebuck WA 6725

Open Tuesday - Sunday 2 - 5pm. And the feeding/tour is always at 3pm.

We loved taking our eldest to the Crocodile Park. He got a real buzz out of it. The tour was very informative and also very cruisy at any time you could walk off to do your own thing and join back in at your own leisure. Far out they are scary! Allow about half an hour from Cable beach Broome.

Also If you go - make sure you take lots of mosquito repellent as they were quite bad. They also offer it there to.

Dinosaur Footprints: Gantheaume Point; 10 minute drive from cable Beach Broome.

Now this was a cool adventure. I mean to be standing on tracks that dinosaurs walked millions of years ago is just crazy right!

Make sure you go when its low tide otherwise a lot of the footprints will be covered.

We parked in the Gantheum Point carpark and walked from there.

It is harder with babies. My husband baby wore our ten month old and our 4 year old son loves an adventure and rock climbing so did great. So just be mindful it does involve a lots of rock climbing.

When it is high tide there are amazing rock pools ( we couldn’t explore this because it was too dangerous with the kids) and also awesome cliff jumps!!

Sunset Camel Ride:

You can’t go to Broome and not do this. Especially if you have little ones;

Mum Hack: a lot of the camel companies provide 3pm rides as well as the sunset time slot. The 3pm rides are SO much cheaper - And If you have little ones I feel this is a better time anyway. By the time you jump off the camels you are able to explore all of the rock pool and watch the sunset from the beach before needing to get the kids back for witching hour!

FISHING:

This was probably the main reason why we headed to Broome. Ty & Chase had really just gotten into their fishing. So wanted a holiday where they could drop the line from the beach in the warmth. It was too hard to take their fishing rods up so we just bought a couple from Tackle World when we were up there.

The boys literally fished to the right of Cable Beach & Port Jetty. Every time they caught!

They then did a fishing charter where they caught so many fish and also mud crabs!!! The went with Kimberly fishing charters. But there are SO many up there. And your looking at paying approx $300.00.

PLACES TO EAT:

A lot was closed still due to Covid.

However Zanders (Cable Beach Front) had amazing cocktails. and also a great take away menu to be able to sit on the beach and watch the sunset. The food was pretty good, I mean it was just pub grub. But the experience as a whole was awesome.

We absolutely love Broome and can not wait to come back to this tropical paradise where there is no such thing as time!
